Shikhar Dhawan played his last match for India in 2022. After this, he was not seen playing for India again. Dhawan was dropped from the team due to poor form and not being able to maintain consistency in performance. Then the players who came in his place made Dhawan’s return difficult. India has many alternatives to Dhawan.

Introduction
Sports desk, New Delhi: Reminds us of the opening pair of Sachin Tendulkar and Ganguly, the pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan had once drawn the attention of the world towards themselves. Not only did they play better, they also broke many records. Then with time the pair kept changing to open with Rohit Sharma. And the situation was such that he could not return to the team even if he wanted to. The result was that he posted a video and retired from International and Domestic Cricket forever.
Dhawan was not able to maintain consistency in his poor performance and his performances. That is why it was difficult for him to return to Team India. Apart from that, it was difficult for him to return to the Indian team, whoever was coming in place of the runner or who was being paired. If you see, all the players who were opening in the Indian team at that time were young. In such a situation, the dream of Dhawan to play for Team India again could not come true and maybe seeing this, he took retirement.

These players faced difficulties while standing
When the runner left the team, Shubman Gill came to take his place. Gill left his bowling in such a way that it started being called the future of the team. After making Gautam Gambhir the head coach, he was made the captain of Team India in One Day and T20 which shows that preparations are being made to make Gill the next captain. This means that Gill is fully open. Whereas as long as Rohit is playing One Day and Tests, he will be opening. Rohit has taken retirement from Tee20. In his place along with Gill is Yashasvee Jayasavaal who is covered with his stormy sitting. Yashasvee has done amazing work in Tests also.
That means at this time Rohit, Gill and Jayasavaal team are the main opportunities of India. At the same time India has the option of a strong contender to take Rohit’s place in the Tests. Abhishek Sharma also influenced the opening in AIIMS and recently in Zimbabwe. That means if Rohit is removed then India has such options of opening in the form of Gill, Jayasavaal, Abhishek and Gayakvaad who have everything- class, technique, attacking approach and age. This is the reason why Dhawan’s team became useless back in India.

Dhawan’s Career:
Dhawan’s career is going great. He played his debut match for India in 2010 which was a failure. In 2013 he made his debut in the test match and scored a century against Australia. Dhawan played a total of 34 test matches for India in which he scored 2315 runs at an average of 40.61. He has seven centuries and five half centuries to his name in Tests.
Ghavan scored 6793 runs at an average of 44.11 in 167 ODI matches for India which includes 17 centuries and 39 half centuries. In T20, Dhawan played 68 matches for India and scored 1759 runs at an average of 126.36. In T20, Dhawan scored 11 half centuries.
